Multiple Data I/O Interface and Single Board Computer
The IXI Technology Data I/O Interface and Single Board Computer is the most advanced interface and Single Board Computer on the market. This IXT Technology PCI Express board allows the selection of MIL-STD-1397, Mil-Std-1553 (for MIL-STD-1397 and Mil-Std-1553 interfaces, all types and serial and parrallel configurations are available), RS232, 422, ARINC 429, STANAG, or Fiber Channel interfaces with the processing power of a Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 System-on-Chip (SoC). This assembly can operate as a single-board computer (SBC) or system co-processor. The IXI PCI Express (PCIe) main board can be configured for MIL-STD-1397 Mil-Std-1553, RS232, 422, ARINC 429, STANAG, or Fiber Channel interfaces. A daughter card addition enables the use of this assembly as a Single Board Computer. The main board with the daughter card maintain compliance to the mechanical requirements of a single PCI Express slot and is available with a standard height or low profile faceplate.
Single Board Computer
Running Linux or VX Works, this Single Board Computer can be used as an embedded controller without a host processor or backplane. This assembly is smaller, lighter, and consumes less than 50% of the power required by other Single Board Computers. Configured as an array of Single Board Computers, each board can run their own operating system and application software. Networking capability is supported with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. It also features 2 Gigabits of accessible DDR3 RAM, 1 Gigabit of storage, a USB On-The-Go port, and dual RS-232 ports. A Board Support Package is included with device drivers for all interfaces.
This advanced assembly can be used as a co-processor to allow an external processor to offload multiple tasks from a host system. The IXI Interface and Single Board Computer allows the host computer to run a different operating system which affords a tremendous amount of flexibility in all applications. Windows, Linux, Solaris, and VxWorks operating systems are supported running on the host.
Installation is in a PCIe card slot and connects to computers and peripherals with MIL-STD-1397, Mil-Std-1553 (for MIL-STD-1397 and Mil-Std-1553 interfaces, all types and serial and parrallel configurations are available), RS232, RS422, ARINC 429, STANAG, or Fiber Channel interfaces. The NTDS Type is software-selectable. The IXI assembly is compatible with x1, x2, x4, x8 or x16 PCIe slots, allowing it to be used in the widest range of servers and workstations. Optional Cable Interface Modules (CIM) are available to connect different board configurations.
The main Data I/O Interface board is software-compatible with other IXI boards, allowing great flexibility to connect between PCIe, PCI, PMC, cPCI, and PC/104-Plus assemblies. Device driver software is available for the most commonly used operating systems.
The Data I/O Interface board can be used for passive tap applications as well as normal data I/O. An on-board time stamp generator tags individual input words with 125ns resolution. Time stamping is software-selectable and can be used with active or passive communications.
The Single Board Computer expansion card can be modified to integrate other interfaces to meet the requirements of individual projects. Contact IXI to discuss your application with one of our engineers.
Maintenance and Reliability
“For maintenance and reliability, the Data I/O interface board feature short-circuit protection to prevent failures due to improper cabling or type mismatches. An internal loop-back path allows Data I/O interface to be tested without disconnecting cables.
